Robert E. Hoffman, "Pop", 85, of Ephrata, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Almeda (Meck) and Paul G. Hoffman. Pop was a member of the Army and stationed in Japan for 32 months, during the Korean War and served in the National Guard for 3 years. He was a self-employed as a house painter for most of his life. Pop enjoyed studying the bible. He loved to take his granddaughters out to eat and solve crossword puzzles. His family will miss his loving and independent personality. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Shirley (Getz), Pop is survived by his children: Stevin L. Hoffman (Beverly) of Ephrata and Douglas E. Hoffman (Lorraine) of Vermont; his grandchildren: Angela, Joy, Katrina, Tessa, and Promise; 5 great-grandchildren: Alivia Faith, Evelynn, Eden, Elijah and Asher. He is also preceded in death by his brother Paul Hoffman. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 6PM at the Ephrata Community Church, 70 Clay School Rd, Ephrata, PA 17522. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
