IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert “Bob”
H. Zook
November 16, 2023
Robert "Bob" H. Zook, 86, of Lancaster went to his eternal home with his lord and savior on November 16, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of service, adventure, and unwavering faith. He was born in the summer of 1937 to the late Harvey Zook and Emma Fisher in their home in Lancaster.
A graduate of McCaskey high school, he went on to serve in the Marines. As a proud Marine, he served with valor and dedication to his country. He became a devoted member of the Marine Corps League following his retirement.
Following his military service, Bob took to the skies, embarking on a distinguished 31-year career as an airline pilot ending with PSA. Beyond the clouds, Robert found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life. An avid cyclist and motorcyclist, he embraced the freedom of the open road. When age no longer allowed him to bike, he continued his love for movement through walking. He explored distant lands and cultures, with a particularly cherished journey to Israel, where he deepened his appreciation for history and faith. Devoted to his beliefs, Robert was a dedicated member of The Worship Center and was born again.
Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife Carol Faye Zook and stepdaughter Carolann and Jeff who shared many kindnesses with Bob. He will be remembered by his community, church, and family. Being survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, he had a special connection with one of his youngest great-nephews Alaric whom he loved dearly. Along with Alaric Bob spent much of his time with his nieces Charolette (Mark) Shaub and Lynne Shaub. He is preceded in his passing by his parents Anthony and Emma Fisher, and his sisters Peggy Swartzwelder and Carole Shirk.
A funeral service will be held November 29, 2023, at St. John Herr Estate Chapel, 200 Luther Ln, Columbia, PA 17512. Family invites guests to a viewing beginning at 2pm until the time of service at 3pm. Bob will be laid to rest privately at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Tunnel to Towers at t2t.org in Bob's honor.
