IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert W.
Gerhart
May 31, 2019
Robert W. Gerhart, 84, of Intercourse, PA passed away peacefully at home Friday evening, May 31, 2019 with his wife and sons at his side. Robert, better known as Bob, inherited his father's plumbing traits at a young age and worked with him for many years. Bob continued working as a skilled plumber throughout the city of Lancaster for his entire career until retirement in 2000. Bob had a love for boating. His parents took him and his siblings boating at Perryville, MD where they spent many weekends on the water fishing, water skiing, and enjoying life. Bob shared his love of boating and the Chesapeake with his own family. He and his wife, Gene purchased their first boat in 1960 and began to create long-lasting memories for their three sons. The journey continued when all three adult sons and their families were able to purchase their own boats and campers at Chestnut Point Marina in Northeast, MD. The enumerable water battles, cookouts, sun-filled days with few worries surrounded by family and close friends taught us what life was meant to be. He cherished his family and was proud of their accomplishments. Bob was a devout hunter. He enjoyed small game hunting with his dog Jill. He shared his love of the mountains and hunting white-tail deer with his sons. Together, they spent many hunting seasons in Wyoming and Clinton County. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of late Clara and Earl Gerhart. Bob was married to Gene Gerhart for 65 years. Surviving in addition to his wife are his twin sister Betty, his three sons, William, husband of Bonnie of Narvon; Steven, husband of Toni of Narvon; Michael, husband of Lori of East Earl. He is survived by his five granddaughters, Jennie, Danyelle, Amanda, Kelsey, and Kayla. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Dorothy and June and his brother Earl. Bob will be fondly remembered by family and friends as fun-loving individual who passed on the infamous "Gerhart laugh" which can be heard miles away. Funeral Services for Bob will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
