Robert P. Feister, 79, of Lancaster and formerly of Chambersburg, PA. died  Monday at Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late John M. and Anna C. Shindle Feister. Robert was married April 11, 1953 to Catherine R. Kitch Dewitsky Feister.

Mr. Feister was a computer system analyst for the US Government for the US Navy for 35 years and retired in 1984.

His memberships include St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and the American Legion in Chambersburg. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict as a 3 ^rd Class Weather Observer.

His hobbies were golfing, fishing, computers, and he enjoyed football especially, Penn State and the Eagles.

Surviving besides his wife, Catherine are four sons; Gerald D. husband of Bonnie Feister of Chambersburg, Robert P. Jr. husband of Jane Feister of Arendtsville, Pa., Michael husband of Bonnie Dewitsky of Lancaster, Ronald husband of Judy Dewitsky of Landisville, Pa, one daughter, Dolores wife of Charles Walton of Drumore, Pa., seven grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one sister, Sandy Clark of Lititz and she was preceded in death by a sister, Joy Fittapaldia

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, Pa on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00AM. There will be a viewing at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, Pa on Thursday night from 7-9:00PM and on Friday at the church from 10-11:00AM. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
