Obituary

Robert Eby, 86, of Willow Street, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at The Arbor View at Willow Valley. Born in Salisbury Twp., PA he was the son of the late Chester and Gladys (Yelk) Eby. He was the loving husband of Betty Jane (Herman) Eby with whom he shared over 67 years of marriage. He worked as a supervisor at the S C Poultry Services in East Petersburg for over 24 years. Robert was a longtime member of the Willow Street UCC. He was a life time member of the Strasburg Sportsman Association. Robert enjoyed going on bus trips, gardening but his passion was hunting and fishing. He was a longtime member of the Tamarack Kettle Creek Sportsman Association in Clinton Co., PA. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by two sons, James R. Eby of State College, PA, Michael E. Eby husband of Kathy of Lancaster and one daughter, Brenda J. Olena wife of Shawn of W. Willow, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Krista, Thomas, Kelly, Eric and one brother, Richard R. Eby husband of Cathy of New Holland, PA. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Chet, John and Bill. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Willow Street UCC, 2723 Willow Street N, Willow Street, PA 17584. Interment will follow in Willow Street UCC Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10-11AM at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the church at the above address or to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
