Obituary

Robert "Bob" Dwight Noble, age 79, beloved father and respected educator, passed on July 17, 2025. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Bob was the son of the late Dwight and E. Anne (Muehlbauer) Noble.

Robert grew up in Camp Hill, PA and graduated from Milton Hershey Preparatory School. Bob attended Millersville University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in education. Bob began his career as a high school math teacher in 1967. During his time in the classroom, he developed a deep interest in emerging computer technologies and integrated computers into teaching. His passion and forward-thinking approach helped pave the way for technology in the school system. That early work led to his transition into administration, where he eventually retired as Assistant Business Manager for the Downingtown Area School District. His contributions left a lasting mark on both students and the broader educational community.

It was during his time at Millersville that he met the love of his life, Barbara, with whom he married on December 27, 1968 and built a beautiful life and family with. His love for her was like a romance novel, with a tangled love, a quick courtship, secret love notes, constant hand holding, and a million "I love yous". They shared 50 years of marriage with each other.

Bob's passions extended beyond the classroom. He grew up playing chess and bowling, with a top score 290. He was an avid player of Dungeons and Dragons in the 70s. Bob also picked up rug hooking as he and Barb were both involved in the fiber arts and created many beautiful pieces with the help of his math background, and Barb's artistic drawings. After retirement, he also became a dedicated philatelist and served as president of the PSLC and EPPS. He was a pre-cancel specialist and took pride in collecting a comprehensive range of U.S. postage.

A devout member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Bob actively participated in church activities throughout the years, serving as cantor and sharing his musical talents in various churches. He was very devout to his family and his faith. He gave of himself in order to help others in silent ways. He never asked for anything in return; your growth and happiness meant the most to him.

Bob is survived by his loving children: Michael Noble (husband of the late Christine Noble) and Suzanne Uhl (wife of Scott) as well as one grandchild: Phoenix.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara J. Noble, 2019.
