It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert E. Dolk, on May 27, 2024, at Masonic Village. He will be remembered as a distinguished presence in the field of education and a devoted family man. Born on April 22, 1946, in Washington DC, he was the son of Ralph and Dorothy Dolk. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth A. (Johnson) Dolk for over 30 years until her passing in 2008.
Robert was a man of immense dedication and commitment serving as a Special Education Supervisor at IU12 in York, PA, where he touched the lives of numerous students, enriching their educational experiences. His profound impact extended far beyond the professional realm, as he actively participated in all of his children's activities and instilled in them a strong work ethic, embodying the essence of a provider.
A devout Catholic, Robert devoted his time to teaching Sunday school at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, embodying his faith through his actions. He was a longstanding member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Robert is survived by his loving children Maureen Dolk-Metcalfe, wife of James of Mountville, Gregory Robert Dolk, husband of Dana Mastromatteo of Lititz, Nathan Patrick Dolk, husband of Chiaying Wei of Manhattan, Aaron Joseph Dolk, fiancé of Brandy Wimmer of TN, and Rachel Marie Dolk of Scranton; grandchildren, Lauren E. & Derek J. Metcalfe, Sven J. Dolk, and Elizabeth S. Dolk; and sisters, Mary D'Augustino (Joe) and Ruth Spaid (Gerald) of MD. He was preceded in passing by his parents, wife, and beloved dog Eli.
A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and remember Robert's remarkable life will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602, on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 11 AM. The family will receive guests at the church from 10 AM until Mass. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to Masonic Village Benevolent Fund or Masonic Village Hospice at masonicvillages.org/donate-now
