Robert G. "Bob" Shickley. 66, of Columbia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Conestoga View. Born in Columbia, PA he was the son of the late Winfield and Dorothy (Koehler) Shickley.

A 1965 graduate of Columbia High School, Bob went onto work for Keystone Cap in Columbia and later for the Simplex Paper Box Co. in York. Bob was an active member with the former Vigilant Fire Co. No. 2 and more recently with the Columbia Consolidated Fire Department. He also served as a fire policeman for the borough for many years and just recently received an award for 40 years of service. He was also a long time member of the Columbia Jaycees where he won many arm wrestling titles. He also was an avid bowler, enjoyed traveling to the mountains with his buddy, Jim Haug and in his earlier days raising pigeons. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of Columbia United Methodist Church.

He will be deeply missed by his loving nieces, nephews and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Shickley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11AM at the Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St., Columbia, PA 17512 with Rev. Jeffrey A. Snyder officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 26, 2012 between 7-9PM at the church and again on Saturday between 10-11AM. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Bob's memory to the church at the above address.
