Robert S. "Bob" Eckman, age 93, of Akron, PA. passed away on September 28, 2023. Born in Lancaster, Bob was the son of the late Jacob and Florence (Shirk) Eckman.

After completing high school, Bob served in the United States Army Reserves. Upon his completion of service, he went to work and retire from Acme Markets, INC. He was a member of Refton Bethren in Christ Church. In his spare time, he loved to play golf and was a talented piano player, having the ability to play by ear.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Eckman; his daughters: Debra A. Hurst and Karen M. Smith (wife of John), 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one sister: Helen Townsley.

A gathering of friends will take place at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. 17543 on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 2pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/ .
