Richard Yoder, 88, of East Petersburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Lebanon VA Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy J. Wendler Yoder, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage this past April 16th. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Lester and Mary Ott Yoder. Richard had worked for Armstrong World Industries as the assistant general supervisor of the stencil mix department, retiring after 41 years of service. A US Army veteran of World War II, he served in Europe with the Corps of Engineers. From 1950 to 1952, he served with the PA National Guard. Richard was a member of Masonic Lodge 43 of Lancaster and the Scottish Rite Valley of Lancaster. He loved to dance, especially the jitterbug. A family man, he enjoyed going fishing with his grandchildren and traveling with his family. He was of Lutheran faith. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, both of East Petersburg: Linda M. Hyle and Barbara J. married to Ricky Eckman; his grandchildren Shawn, Jason, Joshua, and Justin; his great grandchildren Dylan, Tyler, Morgan, and Summer, and by his sister, Nancy J. married to Charles Miller of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard D. Yoder, and 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends and family are invited to attend the Graveside Funeral Service at Riverview Burial Park, South Duke St., Lancaster, PA on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Richard's memory to the Hospice program of Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Mail Code 10-V ,Lebanon, PA 17042 (please note on check for Hospice in memory of Richard Yoder).
