Richard Kauffman, Sr., 76, of Lancaster passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Daniel and Nettie V. (Petsch) Kauffman. He was employed as an auto mechanic for many years with Kauffman's Salvage Yard in Lancaster. He is survived by 4 sons, Richard Kauffman, Jr., husband of Sharon, of Bird-in-Hand, PA, William F. Kauffman, of Columbia, Timothy S. Kauffman and Benjamin F. Kauffman, both of Lancaster; 2 daughters, Lois Kauffman and Tina M. Miller, both of Lancaster. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Blanche M. Wilson, Rose M. Shank, Ida R. Henry, Geraldine Hougendobler and 3 brothers, Henry, Charles and James Kauffman. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mary Jane Kautz, Virginia M. Meeker, Barbara Ann Kauffman and a brother, Daniel Kauffman, Jr. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service from Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11AM with the Rev. J. William Lentz, Jr. officiating. Friends may view at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment in Riverview Burial Park.
