Richard Cooper Schenke, 93, of Millersville, PA, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Born on May 10, 1927, in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Edward and Priscilla (Ford) Schenke, and the beloved husband of Clara (Hillis) Schenke.

Richard attended Hamden High School, graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Yale University, and an MBA from Columbia University. He honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked in various management positions with the M.I.F. Company in Connecticut, and the Grinnell Corporation in Tennessee and Pennsylvania.

Richard loved his family, and enjoyed swimming, gardening and bird watching. He was a member of the Church of the Apostles UCC, Lancaster.

Along with his wife, Richard is survived by four children: William H. Schenke, Johnathan M. Schenke, Mary S. Schick, and Thomas K. Schenke. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lara I. Schenke, Matthew T. Schenke, Leann C. Schenke, Jacob M. Schick, and Edward C. Schick, and a great-grandson, Decker J. Schenke. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alison J. Schenke.

Richard will be deeply missed by family and friends. Services will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
