Richard H "Rick" Book, 62, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Gordon L. and Virginia M. (Styer) Book. Rick was the loving husband of Paula M. (Falk) Book, with whom he celebrated 35 years of marriage.

Rick was a 1967 graduate of JP McCaskey High School. He worked for J.C. Ehrlich Company for 40 years as a senior technician.  Rick was a member of the Knights of Columbus #867, previously served on the parish board at St. Joe's church and was past president of the Men's club at St Joe's. He served on the LCHS carnival committee for over 14 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rick was an avid Phillies fan.

In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his daughter, Melissa L., wife of Kenneth Eberly, of Lititz. Also surviving are three siblings: Gordon L. Book, Jr., husband of Carol of Lancaster, Larry H. Book, husband of Vicky of East Petersburg, and Vicki Sprout, wife of Paul, of Lancaster. Rick was the proud grandfather of his grandson: Ryan M. Eberly. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Book.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA with Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA from 6-8PM . Interment will be at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery.
