Richard "Rich" William Valudes, 25, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 12, 2013. He was born in Charlotte, NC to Michael J. and Rebecca (Sabbage) Valudes, of Mt. Joy.
Rich graduated from Hempfield High School in 2006. He attended Clarion University and University of Maryland studying Arabic and Philosophy.
He was the assistant manager at Goodwill Industries in Elizabethtown and a private investigator with Archangel Detective Agency, in Lancaster.
He attended Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church, where he was baptized and a member of the men's group.
Rich enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, martial arts, marksmanship, reading, studying philosophy, and spending time with his family.
He served in the National Guard.
Surviving in addition to his parents and intended, Anna Wajda, his daughter, Isabella Valudes, of Minot, ND, a brother, Jon-Mikel Valudes, aunts Paula Valudes, Teresa S. Martin, wife of Corey, Susan Sabbage, and an uncle Michael Sabbage, husband of Britt, maternal grandmother, Emma Jean Sabbage, and a paternal grandfather, John Valudes, and cousins, Wendell, Cory, Brittany, Kacie, Brandon, Tristin, Sunshine, Savannah, Gage, and Jaydajean.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 10AM at Hempfield Brethren in Christ Church 2600 Marietta Ave. Lancaster, PA 17601 with Rev. Greg Taylor officiating. A visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 6:30-9PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Rich's memory for a scholarship fund for his daughter to the Susquehanna Bank c/o Isabella Valudes 749 E. Main St, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
