Obituary

Richard "Dick" S. Warren, 96, of Lancaster, passed away, Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Moravian Manor Nursing Home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lance and Florence (Johns) Warren, and the husband of the late Anne (Heyer) Warren who died in 1998.

Dick proudly served in the United States Merchant Marines during WWII as a Radio Operator. He was a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in 1935.Dick was Director of Personnel at Hamilton Watch Company before his retirement in 1975. He was a member of Lancaster Moravian Church, and formerly active in the Toast Masters Club. He was an avid photographer and speaker. Dick enjoyed woodworking and nature.  He had given his Covered Bridge Speech 340 times, along with other speeches involving nature, with a colored slide show which included photos he had taken.

Dick is survived by 2 children; John Warren and his wife Patricia of Phoenix, Md., and Sue Bishop of Miami, Fl.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel 3110 Lititz Pike at 10 a.m. with Rev Dean Easton officiating. Family and friends will be received Friday, November 20, 2009 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Interment will follow the service at St. Peters Cemetery, Neffsville.
