IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard C.
Anderson
May 4, 2024
Richard C. Anderson, 79, of Landisville, formerly of Erie, passed away Saturday May 4, 2024. Born to the late Robert and Catherine (Larson) Anderson in Erie, PA, he was a graduate of East High School, class of 62, and Penn State University, class of 1966, with a BSIE. Richard was a good person who led a simple & full life.
Richard devoted 35 years to Amerimax, where he served with unwavering integrity. His expertise lent to frequently working with agencies like EPA and OSHA. After his departure from there he finished his work career at the Manheim Auto Auction.
However, Richard's greatest joy and source of pride was his beloved wife, Irene, whom he met in 7th grade and adored from the moment he laid eyes on her. Their love story became a beautiful marriage in 1968, spanning an incredible 56 years filled with love.
Richard was a man of many passions. An avid golfer, he frequently graced the greens around Lancaster County. He also found enjoyment in running marathons, biking, and bowling. Richard had a fondness for animals, whether that was birdwatching or giving attention to his dogs, especially Puck and his cat Billy.
Richard's circle of friends held a special place in his heart, with whom he and Irene shared countless memorable vacations spanning over five decades.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife Irene (Kala), his children Eric Anderson (husband of Carrie), Jeffrey Anderson (husband of Andrea), and Jennifer Enterline (wife of David), as well as his adoring grandchildren Quinlan, Zoe, Alice, Walter, Liam, and Brandon. He is also survived by his brother Donald Anderson (husband of Mary Jane) and his close friends Joe Lutterbaugh and Bob Dickey. Additionally, he cared deeply for his nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. Instead, those wishing to honor Richard's memory are encouraged to make donations to the Lancaster Public Library at lancasterlibraries.org , a place where he found enrichment through his love of reading.
