Richard David Ashby, 74, passed away at his Manheim Township home on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was the loving husband of Carole (Nell) Ashby. David was born in Lancaster to the late Joseph and Anna May (Kolb) Ashby and he grew up on Cabbage Hill.

David served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963, with a tour of duty in Korea. He next worked as a barber for Glatfelter's Barber Shop in East Petersburg. David then owned Ashby's Restaurant in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife Carole, David is survived by his brother, Robert W. Ashby (Linda) of Akron, 2 stepchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 niece. His brother Ronald Ashby preceded David in death.
