Richard "Rich" A. Buckreis, 68, of Lititz, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Landis Homes after a 15 month illness of Lewy Body Dementia. He was the husband of Peg (Auker) Buckreis, celebrating 7 years of marriage. Rich was born in Altoona to the late Robert E. and Sarah Raugh Buckreis. He was retired from Johnson and Johnson Merck. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Lukes United Church of Christ in Lititz, where he had served as an elder. Some of the great joys in Rich's life were spending time with family, traveling, and his love for sports. In addition to his wife, Peg, he is survived by his daughter, Jannette Mansour married to Johny Mansour and their 2 children, Hannah and Joseph, who reside in California; his children through marriage are Troy Auker and his wife Melissa of Elm and their 5 children Jason, Matt, Kendall, Justin, and Jared and his 4 great grandchildren Mya, Cayden, Hope, and David; Todd Auker and his companion Melissa of Elm and their 5 children Nikki married to Jeremy Becker of Lititz, Kole, Kylee, Kaylee, and Kolin, and a sister-in-law Barbara Garner of Manheim. He is also survived by his siblings: Jim (Charlotte) of TN, Gene (Mary Ann) of FL, Bill (Marie) of AZ, Linda Hirneisen of DE, and Eddie (Elizabeth) of CA. He was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret, Robert, Jack, Tom and Cathy. Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 6-7PM at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 222 N. Broad St., Lititz, PA 17543 with the Memorial Service to follow at 7PM. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rich's memory may be sent to the Alzheimers Assn, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to St. Luke's UCC at the above address.
