December 11, 2019
Rebecca "Becky" Reidenbach, 61, of Lancaster, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Hospice & Community Care with her family by her side. Becky was born in Lancaster and proudly raised in Lititz by her parents, the late Dr. Arthur S. and Elizabeth J. (Mumma) Griswold.
Becky graduated from Warwick High School in 1976. She also earned an associate degree in legal secretarial science from Wesley College in 1978. Following her graduation, she was employed as a legal secretary for the former Law Offices of Shirk, Reist & Posey in Lancaster until 1985.
She enjoyed volunteering in the community–which included serving on numerous social and philanthropic committees for causes near and dear to her heart–such as the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women, the American Cancer Society's Legacy Ball, and the Lancaster Early Education Center's Night on the Town. Becky was always the life of the party and was known to many as an event planner extraordinaire. She was also renowned for her unique craft making abilities and gourmet cooking skills. In addition to treasuring time with family, friends, and strangers alike, she also took great pleasure in shopping and vacationing in Stone Harbor/Avalon, Palm Springs, and western Europe.
Becky was a parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and a former member of the Hamilton Club, as well as Bent Creek Country Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth C. Reidenbach, of Lititz; a son, Andrew W. Reidenbach, husband of Jessica E., of Hellam; two sisters: Diane G. Palmer, wife of William, of Lancaster, and Sally A. Young, of Manheim; two brothers: Thomas H. Griswold, of Hendersonville, NC, and Steven Stadlin, husband of Michele, of Penn Valley, PA; a special friend Dave Most, of Lancaster; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Becky's oncologists, Dr. Samuel Kerr in Lancaster and Dr. Hayley Knollman in Philadelphia, and all of the staff at Hospice & Community Care for their exceptional and compassionate care during her illness.
Becky's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 12:30PM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 601 E. Delp Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601.
