Raquel "Rachel" Vazquez, age 74, of Lancaster, PA, passed on February 18, 2025. She was born in Santa Isabel, PR to Antonio Vazquez & Antonia Borges-Vega.

Raquel was a longtime parishioner of New Creation United Methodist Church where she dedicated over 35 years and volunteered many hours. Raquel's beautiful smile, loving demeanor, and generous heart attracted many to know and love her. Her world revolved around her family and she took every opportunity to bring them together through her cooking. She catered her cooking to her guests and they never left hungry.

Many remember her dedicated years owning J&R Communication on King St., working over 15 years for UGI, and Yellow Freight Trucking Corp. Raquel also enjoyed volunteering for the Latino community as a disc jockey and for cultural events.

Raquel is survived by her partner Angel Medina, her children, Roger Colon, husband of Kelly of MD, and Kristi Colon of Lancaster, grandchildren, Josh Gavin, Zach Colon, Nicky Colon, Arianna Colon, and Kai Colon Johnson, step children, J.M. Lopez, Ernesto Lopez, and Abraham Medina Brucelaz, her siblings, Judith Ramos (Juan), Enid Vazquez-Pereira (Angel), and Terry Heagy (Tina), as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, Juan Lopez, and brother, Tony Heagy (Eleanor).

The family will receive guests at a viewing at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 1-3 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3 PM. Burial service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10 AM, Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Road, Lancaster, PA 17603. contributions in Raquel's name may be made to New Creation UMC, 10 W.
