The family of Rand E. Henry would like to announce his unexpected passing on Monday, January 20, 2025. He was 66. Born in Lancaster on June 27, 1958, he was the youngest son to Norman Henry Sr. and Naomi Mae (Swartz) Henry.

Shortly after graduating from Solanco High School, Rand enlisted to serve in the United States Marine Corp. He obtained the rank of Lance Corporal and received many accolades for his precision shooting before his honorable discharge in 1982. Shooting and collecting guns became a hobby he carried throughout his life, and he shared with his family. He was a simple man and found solace in the great outdoors both hunting and fishing.

He went by many names; Honey, Randy, Randybob, and Henry were just a few. Regardless of what you called him; you knew you could always call him to lend a helping hand. His dedication is reflected in his work both professionally and in his personal life. As an employee of High Concrete for over 30 years, his day didn't end when he left. After personal setbacks, one of his greatest accomplishments was building his home from the ground up. Sacrificing his own comfort and wellbeing, he spent tireless hours drafting and constructing his dream home with his kids by his side. Hard work, dedication, perseverance, and the drive to succeed were just a few traits he passed on to them. While his home was his castle, his garage was his playground. Listening to the radio, playing cards, having a beer, or catching up, those who knew Rand, remember spending many hours with him in the garage.

While he had a gruff exterior, his heart was pure. He had a soft spot for animals, especially his indoor and outdoor kitty cats. If he found an animal stranded or in need, he would bring them home and nurse them back to health.

Rand is survived by his wife "Phyllis" Phuong Nguyen of Nottingham, daughters, Jessica Sload, Candice Riley, and Michelle Chu all of Lancaster, grandchildren, David and Daenerys, and his eldest brother, Norman Henry, Jr. of Drumore. He was preceded in passing by his parents, and brothers, William A. and Kenneth E. Henry.

In Rand's honor, the family will not be holding any funeral services. In his memory, remember him as the man that would help others, share in his favorite past times, and enjoy the simple things in life.
