Ramonita Rivera Velez, 84, of New Providence, passed away at her residence on Friday, February 22, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Otilio Burgos who passed away in 2013. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Jose Rivera and the late Otilia Velez. Ramonita was a long-time teacher, teaching elementary school and adult education for over 20 years in Puerto Rico. She had earned a BS in Education from the Universidad Rio Piedras in Puerto Rico. A person who was busy all the time, she was a great homemaker and cook, being known for her Ropa Vieja. Ramonita enjoyed all types of small crafts. Being together with her family was when she was most happy and she always had a positive spirit, bringing people together and closer. Ramonita is survived by her children: Jose O., Gladys, Milagros, Idalia, and Myrna Burgos, Juan F. Lebron, Minerva, Carlos, Edgar, Alberto, and Elliot Burgos, and Yeika Cabrerra; and by her many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6-7PM at Agape Family Christian Center, 1204 Wabank Rd., Lancaster, PA with a Funeral Service to follow at 7PM.
