IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph E.
Esposito, Jr.
July 26, 2024
Ralph E. Esposito, Jr., loving husband, father, and grandfather, formerly of Gloversville, NY, and residing in Lancaster County, PA., passed away peacefully at home at age 89, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 28, 1934, in Gloversville, and was the son of the late Ralph and Ethel Esposito. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School, class of 1952. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. After the military, Ralph worked at the Lee Dyeing Company in Johnstown, NY, and eventually moved to Lancaster County, PA where he worked in the textile field at Travis Mills in Lititz. In 1979, he met and married his devoted wife, Judy, and they celebrated their 45th anniversary earlier this year. Ralph and Judy opened their business called The Crafty Bee which they operated in Lititz and Brickerville for over ten years. After the business closed, he was employed at Conestoga Wood Specialties and enjoyed his position as the order change specialist until his retirement in 2015 at the age of 80.
Ralph had a variety of hobbies and interests which kept him active in mind and body. He enjoyed bowling, watching horse races, and the occasional trip to a casino. Ralph had a beautiful singing voice, and he was an artist with a main focus on landscape scenes, actively painting to this year. He kept his mind sharp by playing daily online games, and he enjoyed playing board games with family and always looked forward to poker nights with his friends. He was proud of his Italian heritage and loved sharing his favorite Italian dishes and desserts, as well as the multitude of recipes he found online. Ralph welcomed the challenge of technology, teaching himself how to use a computer and smart phone, and he taught his family some things along the way. His favorite vacation spots were Bar Harbor, Maine, especially Acadia National Park, and Cape May, NJ.
Ralph is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Arlene (Judy) Singleton Esposito, his two sons Ralph Esposito III, Timothy Singleton (his wife, Karen), his daughter, Kelly Jo Singleton, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Richard Esposito and by his siblings, Joseph Esposito and Gloria Jean (Annie) Podmayerksy.
The memorial service to honor Ralph's life will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 2:00pm and will be officiated by his daughter, Rev. Kelly Jo Singleton. Family invites guests to a visitation prior to service beginning at 1:00pm. The service will be available on live stream and recorded for those who are not able to attend in person.
