Rafael A. Mayo, Jr. ,41, of Reading, passed away, Monday, June 27, 2016 at Hershey Medical Center. He was born in Reading, PA to Rafael A. Mayo, Sr. and Ana C. (Cosme) Mayo.

A truck driver for SNH, he had a heart of gold and loved his family. Rafael was an avid reader and loved to spend time fishing and playing basketball.

Surviving are his family: wife, Melissa (White) Mayo of Reading; children, Rafael A. Mayo, III, Karina Mayo and Dominick Mayo; sisters Mariosol Mayo of Lancaster and Celines Huertas, wife of Antonio Huertas of Lancaster; paternal grandfather, Rafael Mayo of Lancaster and maternal grandparents, Ines (Ortez) and Otilio Cosme of Lancaster.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pascuala (Echavaria) Mayo.

Rafael will be remembered for his love of his family and will be greatly missed his friends and family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2. 2016, 11AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home. 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Allan F. Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
