Phyllis Senft Zuch, 88, of Newark, DE, formerly of York, PA, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday evening, August 2, 2018 at Lakeside at Willow Valley. She was born in York to the late Grover and Myrl Senft.
She graduated from William Penn High School in 1948, married her high school sweetheart, the late Gerald R. "Jerry" Zuch, and enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage before his death in 2007.
Phyllis was a great homemaker for her family. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis was the last living member of a very close group of girlfriends known as Club 7.
Friends once witnessed Phyllis bowl a perfect game. She loved to read, shop, dine out and travel, especially to Europe and Florida. Phyllis never left the house without putting on her beautiful red lipstick.
Phyllis was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Wilmington, DE
Surviving Phyllis are her loving daughter Debbie Sprecher and her favorite son-in-law Jerry; as well as 4 granddaughters, Heather, Kelly and husband Andre, Aimee and Craig, and Heidi; one grandson, Zach; and 8 great grandchildren, Lily, Beth, Josie, Kaitlyn, Julie, Cerianne, Emma and Matthew. In addition to her husband Jerry, Phyllis was predeceased by her son Gary Zuch and his wife Debbie, and her siblings Frances Gilbert and Richard Senft.
Phyllis's family thanks the staff at Lakeside for taking such good care of her, and also thank you to Nancy and Harry Van Den Heuval for their friendship and support given to Mom for many years.
A viewing will take place from 10-11 AM, followed by a Celebration of Phyllis's life at 11 AM, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park at 3 PM on Wednesday.
