Obituary

Phyllis Jean Shipman-Glenlast-Smith, 81, of Lancaster, PA, died amongst family in her home on September 5, 2024.

She was born in Coatesville, PA on June 8, 1943, to Wayne and Helen Shipman. Phyllis attended Coatesville Area High School, going on to work at Handi-crafters and Pepperidge Farm.

She lived a full life, filled with the joy of painting, collecting Longeberger baskets, baking snickerdoodles, taking RV road trips, exploring Cape May, and spending time with family. She was a kind and gentle soul who always put others first and kept spirits high even in dark times. She was an unwavering family pillar and a beautiful, positive light, always smelling of a warm blend of vanilla and Opium perfume that embraced you like a hug.

Phyllis was preceded in death by both her mother and father, late husbands, Harry Glenlast and Donald Smith, her daughter, Jennifer Applegate, sister, Darlene Stefanick, and beloved pets, Jenny and Lacey. She is survived by her children, David (Chandie) Glenlast, Steven (Rhonda) Smith, and Gregg Smith Sr.; grandchildren, Amanda (Benjamin) Bieganski, Ryan Glenlast, Danielle (Kevin) Clauson, Gregg Smith Jr., Glenn Woolard Jr., Jamie Smith, Conner Smith, Robert Applegate, Glen Applegate, and Jeana Applegate; and great-grandchildren, Harper Bieganski, Sloan Clauson, and Colt Clauson. She is also survived and remembered by her siblings John (Rosemary) Stefanick, Linda Stefanick-Solomon, and Dan (Joan) Stefanick.
