Born in Warrington, England, Phyllis D. Simpson, 85, of Landis Homes in Lititz,  went to Heaven on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was the wife of Olin S. Simpson, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Phyllis had been a homemaker and had also worked as an executive secretary at Lancaster Newspapers. Inc. for 12 years.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her faith was of great importance to her throughout her life and she loved to read The Bible and pray for her family. In past years, Phyllis and Olin had hosted international service people from Aberdeen through the Leacock Presbyterian Church.

While a resident at Landis Homes, she volunteered and enjoyed assisting other residents in many ways. She loved to cook, garden, crochet and go to Central Market, but her greatest joy was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by her children: Carolyn J. married to William L. Salmon III of Lancaster, her son William S. married to Beth Simpson of Bear, DE, her 5 grandchildren: Amy, Brian, Chelsea, Ian, and Gwendolyn and by her 2 great grandchildren Halle and Acacia.  A Memorial Service will be held at Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel on Saturday May 26 ^th at 1:00pm.  In Lieu of flowers please send a contribution to the Westminster Pulpit Radio Program, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, Pa. 17601.  To send an online condolence, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.
