Phyllis E. (Rittenhouse) Kurtz, 76, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Lancashire Hall Nursing Home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Heisler) Rittenhouse. She was the wife of Ronald L. Kurtz with whom she celebrated 45 years of marriage this past December.

Phyllis was employed by Donnelley Printing for 24 years. She was also employed by Veitch Printing. Phyllis was a loving mother.  She attended St. Annes Catholic Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband Ronald are a son; Timothy Behmer, husband of Clara of New Providence. A daughter Frances McFalls wife of William of Manheim. 14 grandchildren. 22 great grandchildren. And a brother; Richard Heisler husband of Florence of Ephrata.

She is preceded in death by 2 sons; Terry Behmer and William Kurtz. 2 daughters; Cinda Frysinger and Doris Whitmyer. 2 brothers; Charles and William Rittenhouse. And 4 sisters; Rina Wagner, Anna Getz, Frances Gibson, and June Brown.

A Christian Prayer Service will be held Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home 414 E. King St. Lancaster, 17602 at 11 am with Rev. Norman Hohenwarter as celebrant. Family and Friends will be received before the service at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman Pa.
