Phyllis McMonigal, 80, of Manheim Twp., died January 25, 2018, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Bernadette Fisher Flawd, and the beloved wife of Robert E. McMonigal, Sr., with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Phyllis worked in the cafeteria for the Manheim Twp. School District for 17 years. She was also a familiar face at Root's Country Market where she worked for Hummer's Meats. She volunteered her time and served as the former President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ephrata VFW. Phyllis enjoyed bowling, playing card games and social networking on her tablet. But above all else, she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by three children, Thomas E. Maurer and his wife Janet of Pottsville; Barbara A. Klumpp and her husband Richard of Coatesville; and Robert E. McMonigal, Jr. and his wife Meredith of Lancaster. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Alexis and Ian McMonigal, Caroline Berrier, Michael Maurer, and Logan Maurer and his wife Brooke; and a son-in-law, Rick Palmer, husband of the late Deborah Maurer Palmer, of Tucson, AZ. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service which will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543, where the family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
