Phyllis M. Burton, 68, of Lancaster, passed away at Hospice of Lancaster County on October 2, 2010. She was born in Lancaster to Helen (Parker) McBride and the late William F. McBride.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ronald M. Burton, of Lancaster. They were married on February 14, 1984.

Phyllis was a caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare and retired in 2002 after 35 years.

Phyllis was a member of Brightside Baptist Church and the church choir.

She was a member of the Silvery Moon #56 Order of the Eastern Star PHA serving as the Worthy Matron. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, and her computer.

Surviving in addition to her husband, is a step-son, Darryl J. Ringgold, of Norristown, two step-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Brightside Baptist Church 515 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 at 11am with The Rev. Louis A. Butcher, Jr. officiating. A viewing will be held at the church from 9:30-11am. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
