Obituary

Phouthasenh Phanekham, 87, of Manheim peacefully took his last breath surrounded by family in the morning hours of Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Hospice & Community Care Center in Mount Joy. Born in Muang Kham, Laos on June 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Sang and Babpha Phanekham. He was a devoted husband to Soupalika Khambounheuang for 56 years until her death on May 2012. Together they had 8 children: daughters Phouthakesone, Phouthavasana, Phouthasomvang, and Phouthasoysoda; sons Phouthapadith, Phouthaveha, Phouthavengsavanh, and Phouthamixay. He was preceded in death by son Phouthaveha in 1976. In addition to his children, he is survived by his 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren Diamond, Armani, Mason, Inaya, Mailyn, and Enzo. Second oldest of 9 children, he has one living sibling, his youngest sister Phengphet Kinsada, who resides in Paris, France with her family. He started his military career in 1949 to 1975. He immigrated to the United States with his wife and youngest son Phouthamixay in 1992 and became a naturalized citizen on October 30, 2002 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 followed by immediately by cremation at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
