Philip E. Smith, 83, of 248 Charles Road, Lancaster, PA died at his residence on Wednesday, November 29, 2006.

Born in Lancaster, he was one of ten children of the late Harry Herman and Mary Elizabeth Haus Smith. Philip was the husband of Helen Banzhof   Smith , who died in 1982.

Mr. Smith worked as a shipping clerk at National Bearing Company and retired in 1984. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The last of his immediate family, he is survived by two stepchildren: Gloria J .Hay of Lancaster, Robert E. Banzhof of Chambersburg, several Nephews and Nieces. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Christian H. Banzhof.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, Pa. on Monday at 10:00AM. Interment in St Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman,  PA. A viewing will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00-10:00AM. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made in Philip's memory to St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph Street, Lancaster, Pa. 17603.
