Philip Goldstein, 85, of Lancaster, passed in his home on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Philip was the husband of the late Arlene Goldstein who passed in June 2014. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Herman and Anna Goldstein. A U.S. Air Force and Army Veteran and member of the Temple Beth El, Lancaster, he loved spending time with his wife and their great-grandchildren. Philip was a devoted husband, taking care of Arlene well beyond her terminal diagnosis. Philip had an excellent sense of humor and wit that he carried with him into his final days. Philip enjoyed watching the news and an early riser, he would wake, long before the delivery of the newspaper. Philip was an entrepreneur in various businesses. In his earlier years, he traveled throughout Europe, helping relatives relocate from Russia to Israel.
Surviving are two grandchildren: Dylan married to Jodi Bard, Jamie married to Michael Davitt; five great-grandchildren: Dylan, Sophia, Gabriella, Alyssa, and Teddy. He also leaves behind his cat, Frankie. Philip was preceded in death by one brother, Sidney.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Rabbi Geoffrey Goldberg at 12PM (TODAY) February 23, 2015 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA. A visitation will be from 11:30-12 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Beth El Cemetery, Lititz. Memorial contributions may be made in Philip's name to Temple Beth El, 1836 Rohrerstown Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 or Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
