Peter J. Scallatino, 72, of Lancaster, died on Thursday, October 22, 2015, peacefully at home. Peter was born September 20, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Dominick and Violet Scallatino. He was the loving husband of Lori (Mitchell) Scallatino and they recently celebrated 15 years of marriage. Pete was married to his first wife, the late Josephine (Rota) Scallatino for 30 years. A Veteran of the Vietnam conflict, Pete proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret and Special Forces. He retired from the Philadelphia Police Department after 20 years of service in 1999. Pete is survived by two sons, Peter and Steven at home, and daughter, Kimberly Aprile, wife of Salvatore Aprile, Nazareth, PA; grandchildren: Josephine and Sonny Scallatino and Salvatore and Dominick Aprile. Pete enjoyed woodworking and running his own home-based travel business, Land and Sea Vacations. He also assisted Dual Coast Events as security for "Days of Our Lives" fan events all over the country enjoying his camaraderie with the actors. Pete was an animal lover and will be sorely missed by Oscar, Freddie and Ember, all rescues. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Springfield, PA at 1PM.
