IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Perry M.
Pritchard
August 28, 2015
Perry M. Pritchard, 43, of Mount Joy, died unexpectedly of natural causes, on Friday, August 28, 2015 at home. Perry was born in Warrensville Heights, OH to Harlan O. and Priscilla Ann (Easterling) Pritchard. He was the loving husband of Stephanie S. (Evans) Pritchard. Perry was a graduate of R.B. Chamberland High School in Twinsburg, OH. After graduating high school he was accepted to Penn State University under a full football scholarship and graduated with a Master's degree in Education. Perry began his teaching career as a middle school health teacher for five years and went on to serve as assistant principal for 10 years. Dr. Gerald Huesken, Superintendent of Conestoga Valley School District, reflected, "Mr. Pritchard was a solid CV administrator who was always willing to assist and lend his support in whatever way he could. He was a special advocate for students that needed extra support or alternative options in their education. His passing will leave a tremendous void in our school community." Perry was known at CV as a "Family Man" and provided a wonderful example to staff and students. Perry was a highly awarded sports player in high school and was named All State Ohio for football and track. He was named in Sports Illustrated as the 5th best high school center in the United States. He was also a recipient of the Chrysler Youth Award as an all-around student. He was a very talented football player, playing center for the Penn State Nittany Lions and had the privilege of playing with them in the Rose Bowl in 1995. Perry was very involved in church life at Hempfield United Methodist Church and volunteered in children's ministries, Vacation Bible School, and the youth group. He was also very community oriented and served as Webelos Cub Scout, Pack 181, Den Leader and was a past coach of the Conestoga Valley High School football team. Perry volunteered each year for the "Take a Swing Against Breast Cancer" fund raiser. He was also a part of the WIN Program (We're Involved Now). Perry loved his family, enjoying every moment spent with them from attending every one of his sons sporting events to spending time on the beach with them. He was an avid sport fan, but especially loved Penn State sports. He was also an avid golfer. In addition to his wife and parents, Perry is survived by two sons, Evan and Ethan, both at home; three siblings: Pamela Dunn, wife of Mark, of Twinsburg, OH; Linda Hofmann, husband of Mike, of Greensboro, NC; and Harlan "Rocky" Pritchard, partner of Dee, of Peninsula, OH; Nieces and nephews: Renee, Matthew, Megan, Heather, Braydon, and Brianna; 19 Aunts and Uncles; Father and mother-in-law, Richard and Barbara J. Evans, of Elizabethtown; and a brother-in-law, Rick Evans, partner of Susan, of Mount Joy. Perry was preceded in death by seven aunts and uncles. Funeral Services for Perry will be held at 7PM, on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. Family and friends will be received at the church from 5 to 7PM. There will also be a brief time of calling following the service. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery and will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Perry M. Pritchard Scholarship Fund, c/o Conestoga Valley School District, 2110 Horseshoe Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601.
