Patricia Simmons, 78, entered Heaven at her Lancaster, PA home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born on July 8, 1944, in Harlem, NY, the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Jasper Simmons and the late First Lady Lorraine (Bennett) Simmons.

A graduate of York College with a Bachelor of Arts. Patricia was an entrepreneur owning Simmons Ink making calligraphy greeting cards for 30 years. She was a child of God in her faith. Patricia loved African art, doing calligraphy, and making cards, and painting. She was a great historian, she loved the color blue, and she dedicated time to helping homeless people.

Surviving Patricia are her son Sean A. Sandford, husband of Sondra of Gettysburg, PA; two grandchildren, Ralik André Sandford of Maryland, and Régene Lorraine Sandford of Maryland; great-grandson Jovell Roots, her beloved sister Mariann L. Saunders of Kew Gardens, NY, her sister-cousin Mary L. Wallace of Bronx NY. Family, and a host of friends.

Son (Sean Andre Sandford) You gave me life, provided for me, taught me, corrected me, fought for me, and love me in the way you know best, and I will never forget it.

Beloved Sister (Mariann Saunders-Simmons) Together on life's journey we have traveled sharing with laughter and tears, knowing we would always be there for each other.

Sister-Cousin (Mary Wallace) The scripture indicated that it is possible to be reunited with your loved one in the near future (John 5:21) So, Sis-Cuz is sleeping until our creator wakes her up.
