Patricia K. McNelis, 83, of Luther Acres, Lititz, and formerly of 418 Haverhill Rd. Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011. She was born in Lancaster on Cabbage Hill to the late Edward D. and Irene (Fritz) Kemmler.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John R. McNelis, in 2001.
She was a homemaker and also an operator for Bell Telephone.
Patricia grew up attending St. Joseph Catholic Church and graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School. She was a former member of St. John Neumann and currently a member at St. James Catholic Church in Lititz.
She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, word search puzzles, music, dancing, walking at Park City, her lunch groups, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Michael R. McNelis of Downingtown, Scott B. McNelis, husband of Lisa, of Lititz, Brian J. McNelis, husband of Alice, of San Jose, CA, two daughters, Patricia M., wife of Sam Kirchner, of Lititz, Stacey M., wife of Todd Baker, of Alexandria, VA, eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, and a brother, Edward Kemmler, Jr., of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Evelyn Fox, Jayne Strickler, Janet Barton, Gloria Hoseley, and granddaughter, Laura Lynn Kirchner.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 11am at St. James Catholic Church 505 Woodcrest Ave. Lititz, PA 17543 with The Rev. James O'Blaney C.Ss.R. as Celebrant. A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike on Monday from 6-8pm and again at the church from 10-11am on Tuesday. Final farewell and commendation will be in St. Joseph's New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia 98 N.
