Patricia Elizabeth "Pat" McGurren, 85, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, where she had recently relocated from Dallas, Texas, to be closer to her family.

Pat was born on August 2, 1940, in Jackson Heights, New York, to Joseph A. and Catherine "Kitty" E. Browne. Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, she graduated from St. Teresa's Academy and attended Avila University. In April 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas J. McGurren. The couple relocated to the East Coast for Tom's career, settling in Verona, New Jersey, where they spent many years raising their family.

A deeply creative soul, Pat poured her passion for interior design, fashion, and style into her work and her community. She was an active member of the Junior League of Montclair and further developed her expertise at the New York School of Interior Design. Channeling her entrepreneurial spirit, she launched two businesses, Uniquely Floral and Designs by Trish, taking great joy in helping clients transform special occasions and living spaces into works of beauty.

In 1988, Pat and Tom relocated to Dallas, Texas-a vibrant hub for design and style that perfectly matched her artistic eye. A lifelong admirer of the arts, she joined the Dallas Opera Guild, where she spent years as a volunteer marionette puppet handler, delighting in a program that introduced the magic of opera to grade school children.

Pat possessed a rare combination of quiet strength, grace, wit, and determination. She will be remembered for her kindness, her impeccable style, and her generous spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Thomas J. McGurren; her devoted children, Catherine (Manly) Applegate of Pittsburgh, PA, Christine (Jeffrey) Smith of Lancaster, PA, and Thomas McGurren Jr. (Sarah) of Norwalk, CT. She was the proud grandmother of Matthew (Paige) Smith, Kathleen Smith, Emmett McGurren, and Avery McGurren; and the doting great-grandmother of Josephine and Damian Smith. She is also survived by her brothers, Dr. Thomas Browne, and Dr. Jon Browne along with a loving circle of extended family and lifelong friends.

Mrs. McGurren's burial will be held privately for the family. Please share condolences with the family in the area below.
