Patricia A. Baker, 61, of East Petersburg, PA, passed away on Thursday evening, October 3, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of David L. Baker, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage this past June 5th. Born in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth G. and Mary F. Rogers Hixon. Patty had been an elementary school teacher, teaching K-3 at the East Petersburg Elementary School from 1973 to 1983. After retiring to raise and care for her sons, she substitute taught on occasion and also worked at Wee Care Day Care in East Petersburg. Patty loved spending time with her family above all else, and enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and being around people, especially children. She was formerly a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Neffsville. In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by her sons, Chad D. of East Petersburg, and Darren C. of State College; her brothers: Dale W. Hixon of Scranton and Steve L. married to Cindy Hixon of Mechanicsburg; and by her sister, Kim K. married to Brian Mansberger of Palmyra. Friends will be received on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 930-11AM at Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM. Interment to follow at 1PM in the Hummelstown Cemetery, Lincoln and S. Railroad Sts., Hummelstown, PA.
