Palmer L. Aughenbaugh, 85, of Lititz, PA, died at Masonic Village on Friday, November 27, 2015. Born in Mill Hall, Clinton County, PA, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Anna (Confer) Aughenbaugh, and husband of the late Cyrilla (Peterson) Aughenbaugh.
A 1948 graduate of Sunbury High School, he served in US Navy during the Korean War as a submariner Sonarman Petty Officer 3rd Class. Palmer worked as an elevator technician for Westinghouse Electric, 21 years, and General Elevator for 13 ½ years. He was a Mason, a Shriner since 1985 and he belonged to Reading Consistory and Scottish Rite and York Rite.
Palmer is survived by his daughter Yvonne Sharon, wife of Peter Anderson of Liberty, ME, and their children Amanda and Sean; stepchildren, Sissy Walsh and Michael Joyce of Massachusetts; his sisters, Adda Walczak of Hammonsport, NY, Anne Liddick of Sunbury, PA, and Caroline Moyer of Northumberland, PA. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Grover Cleveland Aughenbaugh, Jr., Bessie MacDonald and Kenneth Boone.
A Visitation will take place on Monday, December 7, 2015, from 10:30 to 11 am, followed by the Memorial Service and Military Honors at 11 am, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private.
