Ona M. Barr, 87, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 surrounded by her loving daughter and family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Rose (Miller) Barr. She was a 1946 graduate of McCaskey High School. Ona worked as an executive assistant and accountant in many companies in the Lancaster area such as Hubley manufacturing and other local manufacturing plants. She loved to write, travel, doing crossword puzzles, was always interested in the news and what was going on and also enjoyed supporting and attending her daughters sporting events. Ona also lived in Old Orchard and Portland, Maine for a number of years. Ona is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Barr and a brother, Robert Barr husband of Ginger A., both of Lancaster. Also surviving are three nieces: Beth Zangari, Kay Smith, Karen Groff and two nephews: Scott Barr and Tom Brinkman. She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Brinkman, a brother, Chester Luther Barr, Jr. and a stepbrother, Charles Adams. Best of mothers and friends. Funeral Services and Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
