Obituary

Norman A. Stottlemyer, 70, of Conestoga, died February 22, 2013 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Winchester, VA, Norm was the son of the late Otis R. and Nellie Mae (McKee) Stottlemyer.  He was married to Linda S. (Clewell) Stottlemyer for 35 years.

A 1963 graduate of John Handley High School in Winchester, VA, Norm played sousaphone in the marching band.

Norm served in the US Navy as Petty Officer on several ships, including the USS Midway and USS Prairie, while stationed in the South China Sea during the Vietnam War.

Norm was employed as a machine parts pattern maker for Emmaus Foundry, Penn Malleable, and New Standard, and was last employed for 4 years as a correctional officer at Lancaster County Prison.  His hobby making specialized car parts for antique 1931-36 era cars turned into a business, "Norm's Cast Replacement Parts", when he had to find parts to restore a Chrysler Air Flow car.

Norm was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Norm was a member and vice president of Red Rose Antique Car Club, and also a member of Chrysler Air Flow Club, and Graham Club. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends while attending antique car shows and swap meets. He was also a confederate Civil War re-enactor while living in Winchester, VA.

In addition to his wife, Norm is survived by his sons, Carl W. Stottlemyer, husband of Jennifer, of Manassas, VA, Chad M. Stottlemyer, husband of Alicia, of Conestoga, PA, grandchildren, Layla, Fiona, Piper, and Mason, and sister, Dorothy Lineburg, of Winchester, VA.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Stella Helmick, and brother, Otis Stottlemyer.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 12 Noon at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551 with Rev. Charles Lisse officiating. A viewing will be held from 10AM until 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Conestoga United Methodist Cemetery, Conestoga, PA.  Those who are able are encouraged to bring their antique or classic car to the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norm's memory may be made to Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard, P.O.
