Obituary

Nina Louise Davis Jasmann of Lancaster, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, at Willow Valley Communities, she was 88 years old. She has gone home to be with Our Lord and is reunited with her beloved parents and seven of her 8 siblings. Surely hosting a grand reunion in Heaven, likely dressed for the occasion. She is survived by her dear sister, Dorothy Davis who shares Nina's grace, wit and strong southern spirit.

Born in 1936 in Columbus, Georgia, Nina grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Baker High School in 1954. She began her career as a secretary for New York Life Insurance before becoming a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines in Miami. In 1960, she moved to Denver for new professional opportunities with Chevron Oil and United Airlines, where she met Dwight on a blind date, kicking off 63 beautiful years of marriage.

Their journey took them across the globe, with stops in Chicago, Ohio, New Jersey, Hong Kong (for 5 years), Florida, San Francisco, Virginia and finally Lancaster, PA. While living in Hong Kong, Nina played a vital social role in Dwight's work with AT&T, helping build connections throughout Asia with poise, laughter, and a wardrobe that could rival any fashion magazine. Later, she served as a consultant for a design firm, bringing elegance and modern flair to corporate spaces in one of the world's busiest cities.

After retirement, Nina found great fulfillment serving as one of the inaugural docents at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Virginia, a role she held with pride and dedication for 15 years.

Of all her titles-flight attendant, decorator, consultant, docent and social diplomat, Nina wore "Mom" and "Shaba" best. She was a dedicated stay-at-home mother to her sons, Brock (wife Cheryl), and Jeffrey (wife Kristin), and actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren – Cassidy, Ryan, Brittany, Brock and Mitchell, and her great-grandchildren – Evelyn, Bryson, Eloise and Abigail. She offered them not just love and guidance, but a sparkle of glamour and plenty of good stories.

To know Nina was to be welcomed and complimented. Her warmth, humor, smile and effortless style will be missed by all who were lucky to know her.
