Nial E Crawford, Sr., 89. Of Lancaster, PA, died at Lancaster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.

He was born Thursday, February 2, 1933, the son of the late Raymond and Mary Ora (Bussard) Crawford. Nial is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frieda (Sartschenko) Crawford of Lancaster; their three sons, Nial E. Crawford Jr., husband of Altina Layman of Greensboro, NC, Kenneth E. Crawford, husband of Carol of Williamsburg, MI, and Robert L. Crawford, husband of Theresa of Lititz, PA; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clair E. Crawford, and Homer L. Crawford; and three sisters, Doris E. Perrin, Velma M. Defibaugh, and Robena A. Fowler.

He served in the US Army from April 1953 until April 1963, serving as Chairman of Victim of Hurricanes, medical supplies, food, clothes, and he was honorably discharged in 1963. He received the Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and The Republic of South Korea 50th Anniversary Service Medal.

Nial retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Health after 22 years of service.

Burial will be at Mount Union Christian Church Cemetery, Mench, PA.
