Nancy "Nanny" Mosso, 89, of Lancaster, PA passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born in Mechanicsburg, PA to the late Edwin S. and Claribel E. (Geiger) Nailor.
Nancy is survived by her husband J. Blaine Mosso of Lancaster. They celebrated fifty one years of marriage. They were married on March 20, 1958.
Nancy was a homemaker.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
Nancy graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1938 and Dickinson College in 1942. She was a proud member of CHI OMEGA Sorority. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Nancy was elected as first female board member of the Mechanicsburg School District and served two full terms. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, and cryptograms.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Ellen Coover Mosso Mowrer, wife of David C., of Lancaster, a grandson Joseph B. Ginther, of Lancaster, a brother Edwin S. Nailor Jr., husband of Betty, of Ventura, CA, a son-in-law Joseph J. Ginther, of Landisville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Dr. Horace Long of Mechanicsburg.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Memorial Service from Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 3131 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 2pm with Rev. Richard E. Jorgensen Jr. Officiating. A gathering with the family will take place after the service at the church. Private interment will be held at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East Lancaster, PA 17602. Arrangements made by Charles F.
