Obituary

Mzimkhulu W. Nyeka passed away the morning of February 21st 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his wife, son, and family friends.  Born June 5th 1950 in Zweletemba South Africa, Mzimkhulu went into exile to a country called Lesotho.  Mzimkhulu graduated from Cheney State University with a degree in sociology and earned a Master's in social work from Hunter College in New York City.  He came to resettle in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where he worked at Armstrong World Industry for over ten years, and then later went to work as a therapist at Morgantown Detention Center for a few years.  His last employment was with Lancaster Children and Youth.  Mzimkhulu fought for his life after a heart attack in 2006.  He made many friends in the United States and abroad, he was a man who liked to enlighten people about political situations in South Africa and around the world. He contributed a lot of his writings in the Lancaster New Eras editor section of the newspaper.  He was a member of The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  He leaves his beloved wife Maria Fanjula Nyeka of 33 years and his son and best friend George Zwelethu Nyeka and many relatives in South Africa.

The Celebration and Memorial Service of Mzimkhulu's life will be at 1:00pm on the 3rd March 2012 at The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on 31st South Duke St, Lancaster Pennsylvania 17602.  To send the family online condolences, please visit SnyderFuneralHome.com.
