Mildred Kline Theurer, 89, passed away June 13, 2006 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1917 in Spruce Hill, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Theurer, Sr., who passed in 1978.

A graduate of the Central Penn Business School, she worked for several years for the Bell Telephone Company in Harrisburg as an office manager before leaving to marry and raise a family.

Following numerous moves between Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Indiana necessitated by her husband's occupation, she settled back in Carlisle, PA, in 1968. During her time in Carlisle, she was an active member of the United Church of Christ. She was also a tireless volunteer donating countless hours to Meals-on-Wheels and the Todd Retirement Home. She greatly enjoyed tending to her yard and gardens in all of her homes. She moved from Carlisle to Lancaster in 2000.

She is survived by her four children: William H. Theurer, Jr. of Lancaster; Linda Howe, wife of Richard, of Richmond, VA; Dorothy Noel of Colorado Springs, CO; and Thomas N. Theurer of Lancaster. Also surviving are two sisters: Martha Wright of Columbia, SC; and Myrtle Moyer of Hershey, PA; as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
