Obituary

Mildred Ruth "Millie" Patterson, 84, of New Smyrna Beach, FL and formerly of Gordonville, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday February 2, 2025 following a courageous 5-year battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of the late Donald A. Patterson with whom she shared 51 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2011.

Born in Danville, PA, she was the daughter of the late John II and Elnora K. (Byerly) Rhoades.

Millie was a graduate of East Lampeter High School, class of 1958.

She was a secretary at National Novelty Brush in Lancaster for 28 years and retired from Little Valley in Lititz.

Having a heart to serve others, Millie was very active in community service and was a member of the of the Order of The Eastern Star Robert Fulton Chapter 446, and in her earlier years a Girl Scout Leader. She was a cherished member of St. Michaels Lutheran Church in Strasburg, PA and presently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

She was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and various crafts. Millie's artistic talents and creations hold a special place in the hearts and homes of her loved ones. She found joy in cheering on Penn State, the Phillies, and the Eagles. She also enjoyed the beach and had a knack for finding sand dollars.

Millie is survived by her brother, John, husband of Anne Rhoades of Gorham, ME; a niece, Lisa (Jeff) Hiscox- Chester, NH, and Renee (Todd) Walker of Gorham, ME; 3 great nieces, 1 great nephew, friends who were like family Sam and Laurie Smucker, as well as many others cherished friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Place, doctors, nurses, and care takers, for the kindness, care, and friendship that Millie received during her time there.

Services will be private in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider sending a contribution in Millie's memory to St. Michael Evangelical Lutheran Church 40 East Main Street, Strasburg, PA 17579.
