IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mildred
Cortes
July 31, 1936 – November 14, 2025
Mildred Cortes, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away on November 14th, 2025, surrounded by the family who loved her beyond measure. She was born in Puerto Rico and later made Manhattan, New York her home for fifty years, becoming a cherished part of her community.
She had a great sense of humor and a spirit full of life and laughter. She loved to joke around and brighten the days of everyone near her. Her joy was contagious. She was endlessly caring and always ready to help others. Anyone who crossed her path felt her warmth, generosity, and genuine kindness. She faced life with fierce independence and ferocious strength — qualities that defined her every step.
She was the devoted wife of Juan Santiago. A loving mother to five children — John, Nereida, Martha Iris, Ada Irma, and Elvis — and a proud grandmother to 33 grandchildren, each of whom carries her legacy forward in their hearts.
She leaves behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. She is deeply loved and remembered by her family, friends, and all those in her community who were touched by her kindness.
As she takes her place among the angels, her family finds comfort knowing she goes forth with the Lord and is wrapped with love and peace. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 11AM to 2PM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM, followed by interment at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.
