Milagros Mercado, 74, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at her residence. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Pedro Juan Mercado Rodriquez and Leonor Rivera. Milagros was the loving wife of her late husband, Elvin Garcia, who passed away in 2019. Milagros was previously a cook at Rodriguez Restaurant on King Street. She also loved cooking, dancing, singing, and praying. She loved spending time with her family. Along with her great sense of humor, she was always warm and welcoming to anyone especially when it came to cooking for the sick. A loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother, Milagros is survived by three children: Jose Antonio Rosa Mercado, of Boston, MA, Pedro Rafael Sabater, of Bronx, NY and Milagros Sabater Mercado Coward, wife of Trenton R., of Ephrata, PA. She is also survived by four siblings: Iris Mercado, Miguel-Angel Mercado, both of Puerto Rico, and Pedro Julio Mercado of New York. Along with many nieces, nephews, four granddaughters, Jaslexis Morales, Jazmin Rondon, Alexis Cordova, and Christine Sabater and two great-grandchildren, Josie and Anaia. She was preceded in by her sister Georgina Rivera. A viewing for family and friends will take place from 1-3pm with a Funeral Service to follow on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment will be Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster, PA.
